As part of its comprehensive portfolio of transport related facilities, the Swain Group owns Transit Medway Ltd, a riverside port company which operates Crown Wharf, a terminal on the River Medway, close to Rochester City Centre. Specialising in Forest Products and Special Project Cargo, Transit Medway Ltd works closely with the Special Projects Division to provide a seamless sea to land transport service for oversize loads.
The facility has been used to provide an access route to the London market for major construction projects such as Wembley Stadium, London Crossrail and the Olympics 2012 site. Capable of accepting vessels up to 123m in length and with good road links, the terminal is ideally suited for a wide range of special project movements which involve a sea journey.
